Narwhal is pleased to share a new exhibition at the Toronto Arts Council Gallery featuring Jamiyla Lowe, among others. She will be exhibiting work originally shown at Narwhal as part of the Beware of the Beast group exhibition from December 2014.

This new group exhibition celebrates the best of Canadian New Contemporary art with an emphasis on surrealism. TAC Art/Work Gallery is a new 1,000 square foot gallery and part of a pilot Space for Art program being developed by Toronto Arts Council to help address the critical shortage of space for artists and arts programming in Toronto.

Working as an illustrative artist and printmaker, Lowe’s work often focuses on antiquated practices once prevalent in sideshows, circuses, and rituals, through finely detailed ink drawings and screen prints. Originally from Montreal she attended the Ontario College of Art and Design’s Illustration program and currently lives and works in Toronto.
